Its possible to keep them in pairs or groups of one male and a couple of females in a terrarium of a volume at least 80l, e.g. 35x40x60cm (lenght-width-height). Plastic boxes with mesh cover have proven us satisfactory as well. Terrariums are equipped with the branches and bamboo sticks of a diameter about 5cm for creating hiding places. Ficus benjamina is the most suitable live plant to use.
As a substrate you could use turf, soil or even paper towels which has proved good for our breeds.
Since the temperature rises up to 29°C and there are no live plants in our terrarium, we don't use any lighting except some daylight from the window. Night temperature is around 24°C, whereas the proper temperature gradient is 25-30°C during the day and 20-25°C at night.
We feed these geckos every second day with crickets dusted with some vitamine-mineral mixture (alternately Nutrimix, Korvimin ZVT, Reptivite), sometimes we may offer them a pap from a banana or baby food (with peach flavour) into which the Nutrimix is added.
We spray them every evening when the geckos are already active. They drink the dew from the terrarium sides and branches. We haven't try yet if they are able to drink from a dish.
If gold dust geckos are kept in pairs, they seem not to be very aggressive and live easily together in a pretty small vivarium. I keep my pair in vivarium of size 20x30x35 cm. Half of the ceiling made from net provides sufficient ventilation. It should be heavily planted with Sansevieria, Epipremnum pinnatum etc. that are used as a hiding places.
